A worker at Sterling Jewelers in Akron is accused of stealing more than $70,000 worth of gems over several months.

Luella M. Conley, 24, of Akron, is being held in the Summit County Jail on one count of grand theft. Her case is pending in Akron Municipal Court.

According to Akron police, Conley “admitted to stealing $71,374.99 worth of diamonds, heart earrings, a ruby and a blue sapphire” during a four- to five-month span while working at the jewelry company.
