It’s official the fun, free days of summer have come to a close and students are back to class in Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools.

“The 2012-2013 school year has kicked off, and excitement is in the air,” Stow-Munroe Falls Schools spokesperson Jacquie Mazziotta said. “It’s going to be a great year of learning, filled with opportunities for all students in grades K-12 in Stow-Munroe Falls schools.”

Just last week student athletes and the community came together to inaugurate their newly renovated stadium.

“With the new synthetic field at the SMFHS stadium, the student athletes and community groups now have a multi-purpose complex that can be used practically year round,” Mazziotta said.

There are also many exciting things on the horizon for the drama students who have already begun their fundraising efforts to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland next August.

Students can also expect to be challenged academically as teachers have developed their curriculum for the new school year.

It is the district mission to “provide a 21st century education, empowering each learner to be a self-motivated, successful citizen in a global society,” Director of Academic Achievement Karen Moore said.
