Trick or treating in Streetsboro and Boston Heights has been postponed from Wednesday evening until Sunday evening.

“Given the uncertainty of the path and effects of the forecasted super storm ‘Sandy,’ it has been determined that the risks associated with having our young ones out and about this Wednesday night is not desirable,” the city of Streetsboro said in a news release issued Monday morning.

Mayor Glenn M. Broska made the decision after consulting with the city’s fire chief, police chief and service director.

The village of Boston Heights, through Mayor Bill Goncy and police Chief Joseph A. Varga III, announced a similar decision Monday afternoon.

The new time in both communities will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
