Here is a list of road and lane closings in the Akron area:

Major highways abruptly closed: None.

AKRON:

?Interstate 76/Kenmore leg closings: The I-76/Kenmore leg westbound between I-77 and I-277 will be closed through early June for pavement repairs and resurfacing. The following ramps will also be closed: I-77 southbound to I-76/Kenmore leg westbound. Detour will be I-76 eastbound to I-77 southbound to I-277 westbound; I-77 northbound/I-76 westbound to I-76/Kenmore leg westbound. Detour will be I-77 northbound to state Route 21 southbound; and 22nd Street to I-76/Kenmore leg westbound. Detour will be Kenmore Boulevard to state Route 93 south to Waterloo Road to I-277.

?Battles Avenue, between 22nd Street and 13th Street: Closed for several months for sanitary sewer reconstruction. Local traffic will be provided access as needed. Work will start at 22nd Street and progress easterly to 13th Street. Work zones will vary. Detour via 13th Street, Kenmore Boulevard, Wilbeth Road and East Avenue.

?Swinehart Avenue at bridge over Mud Run Ditch, between West State Street/Romig Road and East Avenue: Closed until late May for reconstruction of the bridge. Local access to the residential area is from West State Street/Grand Boulevard intersection and East Avenue. A detour will be posted.

?East Wilbeth Road, between Dallas Avenue and Brown Street: Lane restrictions for installing and reconstructing gas mains until early June. Flaggers will assist with traffic flow.

?Massillon Road, between Penthley Avenue and Triplett Boulevard: There may be delays until mid-May for gas main reconstruction but traffic will be maintained.

?Massillon Road, between Seiberling Way and Triplett Boulevard: Closed to through traffic for utility work to prepare for reconstruction of pavement, curbs and sidewalks. The project will continue until November and work zones will vary. A detour is posted.

?Englewood Avenue, between Seiberling Street and General Street: Closed for underground work until the end of October. Traffic is diverted to East Market Street.

?Seiberling Street, between Englewood Avenue and Innovation Way: Closed until the end of October for the remainder of the Englewood Avenue project. Access to local businesses will be maintained. A detour will be posted.

?I-77 southbound, between state Route 162/Copley Road and Cleveland-Massillon Road in Akron and Fairlawn: There will be nightly lane restrictions for crack sealing from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. until further notice.

?State Route 21/Minor Road interchange in Copley Township: There are several closings until further notice: Route 21 southbound to Minor Road eastbound will be closed. Detour is Route 21 south to state Route 261 to Route 21 north; Route 21 northbound to Minor Road westbound will be closed. Detour is Route 21 north to Route 162/Copley Road to Route 21 south; Minor Road eastbound to Route 21 northbound will be closed. Detour is Route 21 south to Route 261 to Route 21 north; Minor Road westbound to Route 21 southbound will be closed. Detour is Route 21 north to Route 162/Copley Road to Route 21 south. Minor Road westbound to Route 21 northbound and Minor Road eastbound to Route 21 southbound will remain open.

?31st Street in Barberton: South Avenue on the east side of 31st Street will be closed for drainage repairs and widening through late May. Also, various streets including Oak, Belleview and Liberty streets will be closed through late July for drainage repairs and widening. All detours will be posted. 31st Street between Wooster Road and Shannon Avenue is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for drainage repairs and road widening until further notice.

?State Route 93, between Carnegie Avenue and the Stark County line in New Franklin: Daily lane restrictions for resurfacing until further notice.

?State Route 91, between Post Road and Glenwood Drive in Twinsburg: Reduced to one lane with traffic maintained by flaggers for utility relocation daily until further notice.

?Akron-Cleveland Road, just south of state Route 303 in Boston Township: Reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge replacement until further notice. The Hike and Bike Trail under Akron-Cleveland Road will be closed to pedestrian traffic.

?State Road, between Cochran Road and Graham Road in Cuyahoga Falls: Reduced to one lane in each direction for road widening until further notice.

?I-271, between the Ohio Turnpike and Broadview Road in Richfield and Richfield Township: Daily lane restrictions for pavement reconstruction until further notice. Also, I-77 under I-271 has nightly lane restrictions in both directions from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

?I-271, between state Route 8 and the Cuyahoga County line in Macedonia: There will be lane restrictions from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly for road widening until further notice. The speed limit will be reduced to 50 miles per hour during construction.

MEDINA COUNTY:

?State Route 57, just north of Fox Meadow Drive in Wadsworth: Closed for a culvert replacement. The road is expected to reopen Friday. A detour is posted.

?State Route 94, between state Route 303 and the Cuyahoga/Medina county line: Restricted to one lane of traffic for resurfacing. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained with flaggers at all times. It is expected to be completed in late September.

?State Route 301, between the Wayne/Medina county line and Spencer: Restricted to one lane of traffic for resurfacing. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained with flaggers at all times. It is expected to be completed in August.

?State Route 303, between the Lorain County line and Brunswick: Reduced to one lane of traffic for resurfacing. One lane of two-way traffic is maintained by flaggers. The project will continue until September.

PORTAGE COUNTY:

?State Route 14 in Ravenna and Edinburg townships: Route 14 from just east of state Route 88 to East Highland Avenue will have short-term closings for pavement repairs until further notice. Delays should be expected. Hayes Road at Route 14 will be closed through mid-May for the realigning of Hayes Road to a new intersection with Route 14. Detour will be state routes 5/44 to Route 14. Until further notice, Route 14 between routes 5/44 and Tallmadge Road will have daily lane restrictions for resurfacing and bridge and culvert repairs.

?State Route 44 in Mantua and Shalersville Township: There are lane restrictions between state Route 303 and Mill Street for road resurfacing until further notice.

STARK COUNTY:

?U.S. 62 eastbound, between Roland Street and Maple Street in Canton: The road will be reduced to one lane for emergency sanitary sewer repairs.

?State Route 800, between 34th Street and 45th Street in Canton Township: Reduced to one lane with traffic maintained by flaggers from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for drainage repairs until further notice.

WAYNE COUNTY:

?State Route 94, just north and south of Doylestown Road: Closed for replacements of two culverts. It is expected to reopen May 8. A detour will be posted.

?Geyers Chapel Road, north of state route 585 in Wayne Township: Closed until late September to improve the alignment of its intersection with Route 585. A detour will be posted.

?Madison Avenue southbound, at the bridge over U.S. 30 in Wooster: Reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge repair and painting until May 8. One lane of southbound traffic will be maintained.

Elsewhere in Northeast Ohio:

?I-77 bridge deck replacement over Cuyahoga River Valley, Independence and Cuyahoga Heights in Cuyahoga County: Weekdays through Friday, the right lane of I-77 northbound between I-480 and Brecksville Road (state Route 21) will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. I-77 northbound motorists will need to use the contraflow lane, and the ramp from I-480 westbound to I-77 northbound will be maintained. The I-480 eastbound ramp to I-77 northbound will be closed until early November. I-480 eastbound traffic will be detoured via state Route 176 northbound to I-490 eastbound to I-77. During construction, three lanes in each direction on I-77 will be maintained on the bridge. Off-peak lane closings on I-77 are expected through the duration of the project.
