WARREN: Authorities are investigating numerous massage parlors in northeast Ohio on allegations of illegal sexual activity, human trafficking and money laundering.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says about 60 agents in his office’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation served search warrants Wednesday on eight spa businesses in Warren, just east of Akron.
Authorities say their investigation into the spas began last July after community groups asked local police for help. No additional information was available about the allegations.
Investigators say they’ll interview witnesses and gather evidence before determining whether to close the businesses. They’re asking the public to contact authorities if they have any information about activity at the locations.
