CINCINNATI: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has disciplined two officials in Ohio in connection with the investigation of allegations raised about management and veteransí care issues at the Cincinnati VA medical center.
The VA says the director of Ohioís regional network is retiring after his proposed removal, while the Cincinnati hospitalís acting chief of staff has been suspended from current duties pending further action.
WCPO-TV and Scripps News Washington Bureau reported recently that nearly three dozen current and former medical center employees have expressed urgent concerns about quality of care for veterans amid alleged misconduct by officials there.
Both of Ohioís U.S. senators last week called for quick action to get to the bottom of the questions raised.
A request for further comment from the VA was made Thursday.
