Wadsworth city officials are considering opening a dog park in the city, according to the Post Newspapers.

Officials said the plan for the park came about after area residents expressed an interest to council members. Dog parks have become increasingly popular across the state and country.

As reported by the Post, Service Director Chris Easton has noted that the main road block would be lack of funds, particularly if those funds could also be used for other capital improvements.

There is a possibility that the park could be funded through sponsorships, such as vets offices, to help offset the overall cost.
