WOOSTER: The Hartzler Family Dairy is getting recognition for its new non-GMO string cheese.

The dairy won the best new meat, dairy or animal-based product award at the New Hope Network’s 2017 Natural Products Expo East.

“This is the go-to trade show in our industry,” Hartzler President Paul Sommers told the Wooster Daily Record. “We’ll use the notoriety from the award and go after distribution.”

The newspaper said the string cheese is the first to be GMO-project verified and is made from milk from five Wayne County dairy farms.
