Barley's Brewing Co. in Columbus will hold its 21st anniversary party Nov. 8 and will celebrate with the tapping of its Christmas Ale.

The festivities begin at 7 p.m. and will include live music by the Resisters. The Christmas Ale tapping is at 8:30 p.m. and the guest tapper will be Frankie Hejduk.

The brewery offers up this description of the beer, which is 6.6 percent alcohol by volume: "Until Barley's Christmas Ale was born, we stuck strictly to the essential ingredients of beer: malt, hops, water and yeast. When it came time to brew Barley's Christmas Ale though, we drop everything we're doing, grab some chairs (and beers!) and sit around zesting oranges while we chat. We add them and fresh young ginger, whole cinammon sticks and organic honey to the brew. It's hard not to get cheerful when doing such a special task."
