The Cleveland Summer Beerfest will include a separate offshore excursion this year -- a VIP Brews Cruise.

The two-hour boat ride aboard the Nautica Queen is set for June 15 -- the night before the festival -- and will feature 15 beers from breweries such as Saucy Brew Works, Alaskan, Deschutes, Royal Docks, Thirsty Dog and Schofferhofer. The boat will tour the Flats and Lake Erie.

There also will be an Italian pasta bar dinner on the boat. Tickets are $55 and only 200 will be sold.

"Well when we first brought the Summer Beerfest down to Jacobs Pavilion last year, we were trying to find a way of incorporating it into the festival," organizer Craig Johnson said. "I mean there's nothing more Cleveland than a boat cruise with craft beer, right?

"It's also a way of thanking some of our sponsors and stakeholders with a fun event on a non-festival night. It's a very popular cruise, especially this time of year, but the Jacobs and Nautica folks made it happen. We're really excited about it."

The third annual Cleveland Summer Beerfest is June 16.
