The Canton Craft Beer Tour -- an event featuring 18 tastings and nine downtown pubs -- returns June 23 to Canton.

The tour, sponsored by the United Way of Greater Stark County’s Young Leaders Society, runs from noon to 6 p.m. and will include Canton Brewing Co., George's Lounge and Buzzbin Art & Music Shop. (Other locations haven't been confirmed just yet, organizers said.)

“The Beer Tour is a fun and exciting way to raise funds for YLS activities, plus participants can enjoy a unique, downtown Canton experience,” YLS Canton Craft Beer Tour committee member Maribeth Graham said in a prepared statement.

The event works like this: Participants receive a wristband, 4-ounce tasting glass, a T-shirt and map of the locations. They can then visit the pubs at their own pace. Each stop will offer two tastings -- and is asked to select craft beers that aren't normally on tap.

Proceeds benefit Young Leaders Society’s activities and community service projects such as Hoodies for the Holidays and Tiny Libraries. Last year’s event raised $4,300.

Tickets are $40. The first 100 tickets sold are available for $35. Only 300 tickets total will be available. The tour sold out last year.
