Boo. The Brewery District Community Urban Redevelopment Corp., Christian Moerlein Brewing, Cincinnati Escape Room and Cincinnati Landmark Productions are launching a series of "Haunted Brewery Tours" in October.

Organizers say it's the first such brewery tour of its kind in the country and they are promising to share "creepy, ghoulishly weird and true tales of Cincinnati brewing history."

The interactive experience inside the Christian Moerlein brewery involves groups of 20 visitors touring the facility and hearing five "sad, doomed tales" about the community's brewing past. But one of the vignettes is fictional and people have to figure out which one. Visitors are given clues and puzzles along the way to help solve the mystery.

“Not only is this the first haunted brewery tour in an actual historic brewery in the country, it’s unlike any other Halloween event in the city,” Brewery District Executive Director Steven Hampton said in a prepared statement. “When you combine local history with a unique interactive element, plus great local beer in the region’s best tap room, it all adds up to a perfect fundraiser for the Brewery District.”

The Haunted Brewery Tours run from 7 to 11 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in October at the Christian Moerlein brewery, 1621 Moore St. The brewery promised a new specialty beer will be available each weekend in its taproom.
