Ill Mannered Brewing Co., fresh off hosting its two-year anniversary party, has announced that it will break ground on a new brewery this fall.

The Powell brewery has partnered with DJCF Holdings LLC to build a new brewery and taproom just east of its current location and adjacent to its current parking lot. The expansion will include a 1,500-square-foot tasting room with seating for 50; an expanded menu of guest drafts, wine and spirits; an outdoor space with a fire pit; and larger production space.

The new site also will allow the brewery to grow its barrel-aging program, add bar games, offer brewery tours and host private events.

Along with announcing the expansion, the brewery released artist's rendering of the new space.

Ill Mannered, which operates with a three-barrel brewing system, has been acquiring seven-barrel fermenters along the way to boost its production capacity. It also will look to upgrade its brewing system in the future, co-owner and head brewer Tom Ayers said.

“This project has been a long time in the making,” he said. "We’ve been searching for a larger location since shortly after we opened, and began working  on this location about six months ago. Our goal has always been to stay in Powell and find a place suited  for long-term growth. The city of Powell and our current  landlord, Matt Franz at DJCF Holdings, have  both been strong supporters in helping make this happen. We are thrilled to have everything in place to  break ground this fall with an eye towards opening in mid to late 2018. With the larger space we are  looking to carry over our small brewery look and feel while providing our guests with plenty of room to  spread out and enjoy everything we have to offer."

Ill Mannered said it will continue to host food trucks.
