The organizers behind Ohio Brew Week are launching a new music and beer festival in Athens to benefit Honey for the Heart.

The inaugural Fall Fest -- which is free to attend -- takes place from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday (Sept. 7) at the top level of the Athens parking garage. The event will showcase cider, beer, live music and food vendors.

Participating breweries include Jackie O's, Sixth Sense, Great Lakes and Rhinegeist.

Ohio Brew Week will make a donation to Honey for the Heart from Fall Fest proceeds. Honey for the Heart is a communal art event that creates and displays giant puppets that march at the beginning of the annual Athens Halloween block party.
