Platform Beer Co. will host a party Jan. 20 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of its Columbus location.

The anniversary party, which begins at 10 a.m., will feature special canned beer releases of Hubris, Quadruple IPA and Never  Swim Alone, Barrel Aged Berliner with raspberry and cocoa nibs. The brewery also promised rare draft beers such as Cherry Donut Pie, "one-off dosed kegs" and infusion tower creations made for the event.

A commemorative glass will be given to the first 150 people.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland-based brewery -- which also is opening a Cincinnati site -- announced that it has hired Phil Blundred, formerly of Columbus Brewing Co., to serve as head brewer at the Columbus location. He will focus on designing IPAs, barrel-aged beers and experimental brews, Platform said.

The brewery, which produced about 20,000 barrels last year, also has bought a bottling machine and said there will be rare bottle releases throughout this year.
