I stopped by Sandy Springs Brewing Co. on Wednesday (Nov. 22) for the first time since the Minerva brewpub opened earlier this month.

Sandy Springs, located downtown, had eight beers on draft -- offering everything from a cream ale to a chai pumpkin stout. The brewery was founded by Andy and Amanda Conrad, two physical therapists who both grew up in the community, moved away and then boomeranged back.

When I visited, it seemed like every one of their family members was at the brewery and more than happy to say hello and talk about how proud they are of the new place, which features plenty of reclaimed wood from a family barn that caught fire.
