Scenic Brewing Co. is closing.

Founder and brewer Dan Mueller said he and his family are relocating to Columbus because of his job in the military. The Jackson Township brewery will close in April.

Daniel and Hillary Mueller opened the brewery in 2015.

"The plan was to stay and retire and continue on, but the Army had other ideas for me," Daniel Mueller said. "It's been a great journey so far."

He thanked the community for the support over the years.

Mueller, who has served in the Army and Ohio National Guard, is undecided about re-opening Scenic in his new home. There's also a chance that someone could take over the current operation, as well, he said.

Scenic had an outdoors theme, based on the Muellers love for the outdoors and traveling. It even served its flights in wooden canoes.

Scenic is one of several Ohio breweries that have closed this year, including Blank Slate in Cincinnati, Pour Boys in Washington Courthouse, Euclid in Euclid and Portside in Cleveland.
