The Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. Taphouse is hosting a special barrel-aged extravaganza starting at 4 p.m. Wednesday. (May 16)

The Akron brewery will offer 12 barrel-aged beers on draft:

-- 3 Year Bourbon Barrel Aged Wulver

-- Sherry Barrel Aged Wee Heavy

-- Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppelbock

-- Bourbon Barrel Aged Old Choco

-- Rye Barrel Aged Wee Heavy with Caramel

-- Rye Barrel Aged Siberian Night

-- Bourbon Barrel Aged Siberian Night with Coffee

-- Rum Barrel Aged Imperial Pumpkin

-- Bourbon Barrel Aged English Barley Wine

-- Bourbon Barrel Aged Rise of the Mayan

-- Imperial Wheat Aged in Key Lime Mead Barrels

Samples will go for $4, while snifters will be $8.

Its nice to roll them out in the spring, Thirsty Dog co-owner John Najeway said about so many barrel-aged beers.

Thirsty Dog also for the first time will offer Bourbon Barrel Aged Doppelbock in four-packs of 12-ounce bottles for the first time. The beer will sell for $24.
