The NBA Finals, which finally start tonight, won't be the only showcase for Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving.
The All-Star point man on Thursday was announced as the cover athlete for 2K Sports' NBA 2K18 video game.
“It is well known that I’m an avid player of this series and I am honored to be the cover athlete of NBA 2K18,” Irving said in a release. “It’s surreal to be featured on the cover and I can’t wait to dominate on the virtual court with all of my fans this fall."

Irving will be featured on the cover of the standard edition of the game. Former Los Angeles Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic star Shaquille O'Neal will be on the cover of separate editions of the game.
NBA 2K18 will be released on Sept. 19 on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and the Xbox One. You can pre-order the game to have early play access starting on Sept. 15.
Also for pre-ordering the standard edition, players will receive 5,000 points of virtual currency in the game, 10 weekly MyTEAM packs and a Kyrie Irving pack outfit. The standard edition of the game will launch at retail for $59.99.
This isn't Irving's first video game cover, however. He was the cover star for EA Sports' NBA Live in 2013.
