Cedar Pointís historic Hotel Breakers is getting a dramatic face lift.
Workers on Wednesday tore down the hotelís main entrance as part of a multi-million renovation project.
The work both inside and outside of the lakefront hotel includes renovating the historic rotunda so guests will be able to stay in rooms surrounding it for the first time in several years.
In addition to a new main entrance, the project involves room upgrades to include new LCD TVs, furniture, bedding and decor.
A Starbucks and a Surf Lounge bar will check into the hotelís famed rotunda.
There will also be an outdoor water play area with zero depth entry and splash features along with two pools and hot tubs.
The hotel will also have free wireless Internet access for its guests.
Hotel Breakers welcomed its first guest in 1905 and has hosted notable guests including sharpshooter Annie Oakley, comedians Abbott and Costello, composer John Philip Sousa and six presidents, including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower.
The park is already taking reservations at the hotel for the 2015 season. Call 419-627-2106 or visit cedarpoint.com.
