The Reverend

Members of Darrell Issa's fan club are most likely not pleased with this weekend's NY Times extensive investigative report on Benghazi. That's the thing about facts and evidence....they often expose ignorant conspiracy theory vendettas for the ignorant conspiracy theory vendettas that they are. It's the darnest thing.

The NY Times report by David Kirkpatrick includes detailed accounts which lead to these important conclusions....

Months of investigation by The New York Times, centered on extensive interviews with Libyans in Benghazi who had direct knowledge of the attack there and its context, turned up no evidence that Al Qaeda or other international terrorist groups had any role in the assault....

.....contrary to claims by some members of Congress, it was fueled in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam.

Now, one can argue over the veracity of information given from "Libyans in Benghazi who had direct knowledge" of what compared, say, to Oversight Committee Asshats who had no direct knowledge of what happened other than what their pre-conceived, political biases informed them. can simply dismiss Kirkpatrick's exhaustive investigative reporting because it comes in the "liberal" NY Times, as many truth-avoiding-and-denying conservatives and Republicans have been doing since the report was published.

But why try to trick or fool one's self? What gain is there in that?

It was September 2012 and the "unskewed polls" were informing Republican dreamscapers that their guy, Willard Mitt Romney, would soon bring America's long nightmare with the Kenyan Imposter to an end. All Romney and Republicans needed was a little extra juice leading up to the first week in November. With the tragic deaths in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, Republicans thought they had found what they needed to destroy the much-hated "Democrat" President, Barack Hussein Obama.

The first ugly fact about the Benghazi tragedy that should be permanently etched into our minds is that Republicans shamelessly exploited the tragic deaths of four Americans for what they hoped would be immediate political gain. In fact, shameless Republicans actually thought they had found themselves a twofer with the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. A BOGO.

You see, Republicans, as we have seen played out.....thought they could do severe damage to Barack Hussein Obama by exploiting the deaths of 4 Americans...AND....politically wound Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, our next president, at the same time. Darrell Issa became aroused.....yes, in that way.....and began holding his Asshat Oversight hearings before election day 2012.

Now let me explain the political "thinking" of the Asshats. During the presidential campaign of 2012, Obama took credit for something George W. Bush could not accomplish......the death of Bin Laden. Additionally, Obama used phrases like, 'al-Qaeda leaders have been decimated' while explaining his first-term administration's accomplishments. Those were Obama's campaign trail "strengths" and Republicans knew it.

Using Turdblossom Rove's playbook page, which instructs to attack an opponent's strength during a political campaign, Republicans, though ignorantly and often hysterically, set about to destroy Obama's perceived political strength. Like a fly to dung, Republicans simply could not resist exploiting the tragedy in Benghazi as they followed Rove's playbook page.

If you recall, the manufactured GOP shite-blitz in the wake of Benghazi included GOP insistence that the Benghazi attack was proof of al-Qaeda's resilience and capabilities....despite the "lies" that Obama was preaching about al-Qaeda. And yet, as the latest NY Times report concluded, al-Qaeda was not involved in the Benghazi tragedy....even tangentially.

As a corollary, you may also remember the self-humiliation moment of Mr. Romney during a presidential debate when he just knew that Obama had never referred to the Benghazi incident as an "act of terror".......when the truth was that Obama had publicly referred to the Benghazi attack as an act of terror less than 24 hours after the tragedy occurred. That Romney stunt was part and parcel of the GOP strategy exploiting the deaths of 4 Americans for what they hoped would be political gain. It was the stupidest "gotcha" attempt ever.

Furthermore, as the NY Times report makes clear.....the anti-Muslim video absolutely played a role in inciting the violence of Benghazi. Yet, Susan Rice and Hillary Clinton were attacked mercilessly for explaining to national audiences less than a week after the Benghazi event that the anti-Muslim video played a role in inciting the violence there. In other words.....the truth.

But an anti-Muslim video wasn't part of the GOP playbook. So, Rice and Clinton, you see, had to be part of a huge conspiratorial coverup.....because they just had to be. Otherwise, Republicans would be seen as hysterically overreaching, spinning an entirely false Benghazi narrative in the hopes of defeating an incumbent president in his re-election bid.

Yes, the most accurate conclusion one can make after reading the NY Times report by Kirkpatrick is that Republicans purposely tried to mislead Americans over a tragedy which killed 4 Americans in Libya. Republicans shamelessly carried out this deception of American citizens in their desperation to unseat an incumbent president.

Yet after all the stupid....they failed.
