Hoppin' Frog Brewery in Akron will release its new Gangster Frog IPA next week.
"It's a clean and crisp American IPA, loaded with the absolute finest American hops," brewer and owner Fred Karm said in an email. "A lot of research has gone into Gangster Frog IPA to feature our new, highly-acclaimed and sought-after Citra hops that we just received for the very first time. And it also has our favorite highest grade Amarillo and Centennial hops, as well, to strike the perfect balance."
The beer is 7.5 percent alcohol by volume. A 22-ounce bottle is $7.99.
The label features a frog in a black gangster suit acting as a puppeteer -- a take on the famous image from The Godfather. The beer will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 5 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6 at the brewery.
To celebrate the release, Gangster Frog IPA shirts will be on sale. The Zydeco Bistro Mobile Restaurant also will be at the brewery from noon to 1:30 p.m. April 5.
