On May 16, Boston Common Asset Management, the Investor Environmental Health Network and the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility announced that 55 major investment organizations and institutional investors had united in support ofadopting  best available practices for the hydraulic fracturing or fracking of shale gas.

The group says it is pushing action from the industry due to the increasing level of uncertainty about fracking.

The proposed guidelines are available at www.iehn.org/documents/frackingguidance.pdf.
