The Associated Press reports that beer fans across the country have filed $5 million class-action lawsuits against Anheuser-Busch InBev, accusing the world's largest brewer of watering down Budweiser, Michelob and other brands.
The water cuts the alcohol content of the beers, lead lawyer Josh Boxer told the wire service.
A-B InBev called the claim groundless. “Our beers are in full compliance with all alcohol labeling laws,” company vice president of brewing and supply Peter Kraemer told Bloomberg. “We proudly adhere to the highest standards in brewing our beers, which have made them the best-selling in the U.S. and the world.”
