Rivertown Brewery & Barrel House is ready to break ground on its new production brewery, taproom and barbecue restaurant in Monroe.
The brewery, which announced the $5 million project last year, will host an invitation-only groundbreaking at 1 p.m. June 13 at the site on Hamilton Lebanon Road.
The new facility, which will feature a 50-barrel brewhouse, is expected to open later this year or early next year. The restaurant will open first and beer production will shift there next year.
"We’re making a huge investment," owner and brewer Jason Roeper told the Dayton Daily News last year. "We’re calling it our forever brewery."
Rivertown's current site in Lockland will remain open and transition into a small batch facility that will produce experimental and one-off beers.
