Ronny Rodriguez hit a three-run homer and Tyler Holt drove in three runs for the Aeros in a 7-5 win over the Phillies in an Eastern League game in Reading, Pa.

Holt had an RBI groundout in the third inning and an RBI single in the fifth and seventh innings to give the Aeros (25-30) a 3-2 lead.

The Aeros blew the game open with a four-run eighth inning, including Rodriguez’s three-run home run and an RBI single by Giovanny Urshela.

Aeros starting pitcher Toru Matura gave up two runs on four hits and struck out six through six innings for his second victory of the season.

Relief pitcher Bryce Stowell earned his fourth save of the season.

Roberto Perez and Adam Abraham each doubled and Jose Ramirez and Quincy Latimore each singled and scored a run for the Aeros.

Phillies starting pitcher Jesse Biddle gave up three runs on seven hits and struck out six through seven innings in the loss.

Reliever Brody Colvin gave up four runs in two thirds of an inning.

Tyson Gillies, Albert Cartwright and Derrick Mitchell each homered for the Phillies.

The Aeros will play the Phillies at 6:35 tonight in the second game of the three-game series.

The game will be broadcast on WARF (1350-AM).
