The Browns made General Manager John Dorsey’s moves in the player personnel department official Thursday, announcing the hiring of Steve Malin as director of college scouting along with other changes.

The addition of Malin had been previously reported as had the club parting ways with director of player personnel Chisom Opara, director of college scouting Bobby Vega, scouts Zac Bocian, Scott Levin and Patrick Moore and college scouting assistant Keegan Leyrer.

The team confirmed those moves in a news release and revealed contract negotiator Chris Cooper has been promoted from director of football administration to vice president of football administration, Brandon Sosna has been promoted from an intern to a salary-cap analyst and Scott Kaniecki will transition from a scouting assistant to a defensive quality control coach.

Malin has more than 17 years of NFL scouting experience and spent the past two years as a national scout for New Orleans Saints. He was a member of the New York Giants’ scouting staff from 2001-16.
