The Browns have hired former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported tonight.

Loggains’ title has yet to be determined, but it’ll be either quarterbacks coach or offensive coordinator, according to the report.

A league source told the Beacon Journal it’s “very likely” that Loggains will become the Browns’ quarterback coach. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because the team has yet to make an announcement.

The Browns interviewed ex-Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan on Wednesday and Oakland Raiders quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo today, a team spokesman said.

However, Rapoport reported that Shanahan’s interview “ did not exactly go as planned” and that the Browns have likely moved on from him. The Browns could continue to interview other candidates, so their search for an offensive coordinator might extend into next week.’s Gil Brandt reported that new Browns coach Mike Pettine is zeroing in on former Baltimore Ravens running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery to fill the same position in Cleveland.
