Canton Charge 96, Maine Red Claws 93

A crowd of 1,628 at Canton Memorial Civic Center saw Ante Zizic record his fourth consecutive double-double (15 points, 13 rebounds) to lead the Charge on Wednesday night.

The Charge (17-24) have won of four of their last five games and are five games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with nine games remaining.

The Red Claws led 54-47 at the half and 76-69 after three quarters.

Starting with 8:23 to play, the Charge went on a 10-1 run to take their first lead of the game at 85-83. A dunk by Grant Jerrett made it 94-90 with 23.6 seconds left.

Maine’s T.J. Peak answered with a 3-pointer to cut the lead to one, but London Perrantes made two free throws to put it away.

The Charge’s Marcus Thornton scored a team-high 21 points off the bench.
