Cavs guard Daniel Gibson visited The Steadman Clinic this week in Vail, Colo. for a second opinion on the torn tendon in his left foot, a source close to Gibson confirmed on Thursday. He will likely need surgery to repair the tear.

Gibson injured the foot at the start of a road trip at New Jersey last Monday, but the tear wasn't discovered until he was examined by team doctors over the weekend.

Surgery would end any chance Gibson has at returning this season. He is averaging 7.5 points and is under contract for next season, but it is only partially guaranteed.
