Bowling Green 82,?Kent State 38

The Kent State women’s basketball team fell to the hot shooting of host Bowling Green on Thursday night.

The Falcons (24-3, 14-1 Mid-American Conference) shot 59.6 percent (29-51) from the field and 50 percent (9-18) from 3-point range, to dominate the Golden Flashes (6-20, 3-12) offensively.

Bowling Green had four players score in double figures and was led by Alexis Rogers with 18 points and Jillian Halfhill with 15 points.

Kent State’s top performer was CiCi Shannon who had 10 points and a game-high seven rebounds.

The Falcons started the game on an 11-2 run and never took the foot off the pedal. At halftime, the Flashes trailed 41-26 after Rogers hit a layup with one second to go. During the second half, it was more of the same as Bowling Green outscored Kent State 41-12.

Halfhill, Rogers and Jasmine Matthews combined to shoot 9-11 from the 3-point line.
