Copley finished fourth at the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team championship Sunday at the Ohio State University Outdoor Varsity Courts in Columbus.
In the semifinals, the Indians lost to Upper Arlington, who eventually won the title, and lost in the third-place match to Toledo St. John’s Jesuit.
Unlike tennis matches in the regular season, the Indians did not win a singles or doubles match because once a team reaches three wins, the other matches are stopped.
“We played pretty well against Upper Arlington and we were very competitive against Toledo, which won it last year,” Copley coach Mark Ullman said.
“It was a great experience that will certainly help us next year.”
The Indians will graduate just two seniors: Michael Ellison and Max Pristic.
The Indians’ two doubles teams of Austin Aten and Alan Du as well as Andrew Ong and Jarod Pennington played on Friday in the Division I state tournament, but were lost in the first round.
