Starter Brett Brach turned in an impressive performance, allowing no earned runs on two hits in six innings of work, but was met with no run support.
He struck out five batters and walked none. The loss drops his record to 1-2.
Second basemen Jose Ramirez reached base all four times for the Aeros out of the leadoff spot with three singles and a walk, but was never able to make it home.
He also stole a base and was caught stealing once.
Ramirez also committed a throwing error on a sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the first inning that led to Altoona’s first score.
Alex Dickerson did the rest of the damage with a solo home run in the seventh, his second of the year.
Shortstop Ronny Rodriguez added two hits for the Aeros.
Stolmy Pimentel earned the victory for the Curve (11-13), throwing seven shutout innings with six hits, five strikeouts and a walk.
He improves to 2-0.
