Curve 3, RubberDucks 2

Pinch hitter Erich Weiss hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the host Altoona Curve a walk-off win over the RubberDucks in an Eastern League game on Thursday.

The Ducks (33-13) had a 2-0 lead after the top of the ninth, but reliever Perci Garner issued a bases-loaded walk to score Jose Osuna and then gave up the game-winner to Weiss.

Ducks starting pitcher Shawn Morimando allowed three runs and struck out eight through seven shutout innings in the no-decision. Garner came on with one out in the ninth after reliever Cole Sulser allowed a single.

Bryson Myles and Ivan Castillo each had an RBI and Jeremy Lucas had a triple for the Ducks.

The Ducks return home on Friday for a four-game series against the Harrisburg Senators. Friday’s first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
