Curve 4, RubberDucks 3

Stephen Alemais hit a walk-off single in the ninth inning to lift the Curve over the RubberDucks on Wednesday in Altoona, Pa.

The Ducks (31-22) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by scoring single runs in each of the second, third and fourth innings.

Bobby Bradley drilled his eighth home run of the year in the second inning. That blast was followed by a Connor Marabell single in the third and a Ka’ai Tom single in the fourth that produced runs.

The Curve (24-24), who scored three runs in the sixth inning to tie the score, overcame three errors and escaped trouble numerous times to win at home.

Dominic DeMasi pitched six innings for the Ducks, allowing three earned runs on six hits and striking out two. He did not factor into the decision as Henry Martinez, the fourth Ducks pitcher, took the loss in relief.

The Ducks left six runners on base and couldn’t get a timely hit in the later innings after the Curve rallied.

The first pitch on Thursday is at 10:30 a.m.
