Former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and speeding early this morning in Solon, according to a news release from the Solon Police Department.

Kosar was pulled over for a speeding violation at 2:42 a.m. today on Route 422 east of Som Center Road in Solon. Officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle, according to the release. Kosar was put through sobriety tests, subsequently arrested and transported to the Solon Police Department jail without incident.

Kosar was the only occupant in the vehicle, according to the release.

Kosar, 49, is in attendance for the Browns' game against the Cincinnati Bengals today at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Kosar played for the Browns from 1985-93 and serves as a television analyst for preseason broadcasts.
