Junior Malik Al-Qaadir rushed for a career-high 256 yards and four touchdowns to lead the visiting Vikings (1-0) over the Indians (0-1).

Al-Qaadir had touchdown runs of 49, 56, 12, and 60 yards for the Vikings.

The Vikings led 26-13 at halftime and held off a late rally by the Indians. The Indians outscored the Vikings 21-16 in the fourth quarter but held on for the opening night win.

Junior William Mixon threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jordyn Johnson for the Vikings.

Stow 14, ?North Canton Hoover 7

Junior Andrew Wargo threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to senior Brian Groves in the fourth quarter to break a 7-7 tie and give the visiting Bulldogs (1-0) the nonleague win over the Vikings (0-1)

Senior Luke Grandjean threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to senior Alex Binnie to give the Vikings a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. The Bulldogs answered back in the second quarter with a 4-yard run from Jayson Gobble to the score 7-7 at halftime.

Wargo finished with 214 yards passing and Grandjean threw for 128 yards.

Hudson 36, Euclid 7

Junior Mitchell Guadagni threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, and senior Jared Ruffing caught a touchdown pass and had a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Explorers (1-0) the road win.

The Explorers led 16-7 after three quarters and scored 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to roll the Panthers (0-1). Sophomore Dean Miller and senior Matt Restifo also rushed for touchdowns for the Explorers.

Lake 28, Green 19

Senior Matt Blasiole rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns for the host Blue Streaks (1-0) in a win over the Bulldogs (0-1).

Junior Adam Dadich threw a touchdown pass to junior Dalton Davis and junior Anthony Cistone had a 62-yard touchdown run for the Blue Streaks. Senior Blake Suponcic threw two touchdown passes for the Bulldogs.

Woodridge 17, ?CVCA 6

Senior Devonte Fellows had a 25-yard touchdown run and senior Dalevon Davidson had a 2-yard touchdown run, both in the second quarter, to lead the host Bulldogs (1-0) over the Royals (0-1).

Davidson finished with 132 yards and junior Myles Walker had a 1-yard touchdown run for the Royals.

Revere 55, ?Buckeye 7

Junior Nick Zimmerman rushed for two touchdowns and caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from junior Zeck Lehman, and the visiting Minutemen (1-0) defeated the Bucks (0-1) for coach Mark Murhpy’s first win in his coaching debut at Revere.

Zimmerman caught four passes for 102 yards, junior Zach Lalkowski had 134 yards receiving and a touchdown and Lehman threw for a career-high 313 yards for the Minutemen.

Wadsworth 35, Ashland 7

Senior Martice Jackson rushed for 201 yards and a touchdown, and the host Grizzlies (1-0) outscored the Aeros 29-0 in the second half for their first win of the season.

Seniors Greg Young and Scott Campbell and juniors Adam Dennison and Shane Mast each ran for a touchdown for the Grizzlies.

Youngstown Ursuline 27,?Walsh Jesuit 24

The host Fighting Irish (1-0) scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally and defeat the Warriors (0-1).

Senior Chris Durkin, a Michigan State recruit, threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to junior Ben Phillips on 4th and 15 with 1:08 remaining in the game to give the Irish the win.

Durkin finished with 199 yards passing and junior Anthony Rozum had a 23-yard touchdown run for the Warriors.

Aurora 20, Twinsburg 13

Senior George Bollas rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown and threw for 93 yards for the host Greenmen (1-0) in a win over the Tigers (0-1).

Senior Kirk Janoch had a 42-yard touchdown run and junior linebacker Mike Stratton had seven tackles, an interception and a sack for the Greenmen.

Nordonia 53, Mayfield 35

Jordan Nobles rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns and David Murray threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns for the visiting Knights (1-0). Denzel Ward had four catches for 167 yards and three touchdowns for the Knights.

Tallmadge 26, Ravenna 3

Junior Joe Vassalotti had a 1-yard touchdown run and threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to lead the host Blue Devils (1-0) over the Ravens (0-1).

Manchester 8, Hillsdale 6

Junior Pavin Parks scored on a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, and the visiting Panthers (1-0) rallied late to defeat the Falcons (0-1). Junior Troy Marksberry threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to senior Ryan Bee for the Falcons.

Junior Connor Zwick threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to senior Andy Minster with 4:48 left in the game to give the host Leopards (1-0) the win over the Cardinals (0-1).

Johnathan Williams rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns and Prince Franklin rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns to lead the visiting Rockets (1-0) in rout.

The host Red Devils (1-0) scored 35 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to rally for the nonleague win. Junior Gabe Surgeon rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns, both to senior Eric Harris. Senior Kenny Jackson rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns for the Red Devils.
