Devin West hit a 35-yard field goal to put Buchtel on the board first.

Kirkland Robins scored in the second quarter after an an 8-yard rush.

Quarterback Brandon McGinnis tossed two touchdown passes, one to Zayir Keen and the other to Zion Robinson.

Golden Eagle Invitational

Hudson boys and girls won the Division I races, while St. Vincent-St. Mary took the boys and girls Division II-III titles at GlenOak High School.

Adam Beucler won the boys race for Hudson, which scored 48 points to second-place Jackson’s 75.

The Explorers girls squad had three top-10 finishers, led by Elizabeth Hinkle’s fifth-place time of 19:13.3.

Theresa Hagey, Leah Lisle and Nina Zraik finished 1-2-3 for the Fighting Irish. Natalie Tobin and Isabella Ceepo were sixth and seventh accounting for St. V-M’s 19 first-place points.

Smithville boys Justin McKeal and Lucas Clark finished first and second. However, the Smithies were third as a team behind St. V-M and Tuslaw.

Alex Phillip topped St. V-M with a sixth-place finish, while James Viront paced Tuslaw with a third-place run.

Billy Goat Challenge

The Woodridge boys took the Billy Goat Challenge in McDonald on Saturday. Noah Perrin was third and Micah Blair was fourth to pace the Bulldogs, who were 15 points better than second-place Chardon.

In the girls race, CVCA and Woodridge were second and third behind McDonald.
