After mounting a 5-1 lead through two innings, the host Knights (1-0) still needed an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh by Jordan Burns to start the season in the win column.

Trailing 7-6 in the sixth inning, Hoban senior shortstop Sean Trexler stole home to tie it at 7-7.

Burns then came through with the winning two-out single in the seventh.
