Nordonia 8, Wooster 6

Trailing 5-0 after the second inning, the Knights put up crooked numbers in the final three innings to upset the Generals and escape with a road victory.

Joey DeRusso and Mason Mimms each slapped two singles and drove in a run to help lead the comeback effort as Nordonia (7-10) scored two runs each in the fifth and sixth before pushing across three runs in the seventh to win.

Nick Kovacs added a double and two RBI for the Knights and Nick Heiser singled to drive in what proved to be the game-deciding run.

Kent Roosevelt 8, Cuyahoga Falls 7

Kobe Thigpen collected two hits including a walk-off single to help the Rough Riders stave off the upset-minded Black Tigers.

Alex Labajetta led off the seventh with a double off the left field fence. Two batters later, Thigpen delivered to lift Roosevelt to victory.

Nathan Ritchey collected three singles and two RBI for the Rough Riders and Matt Dile also ripped three singles, scored once and had three RBI.

Lake 1, Canton Central Catholic 0

Kyle Aten dominated the Crusaders, firing a complete game to help the Blue Streaks defend their home field in a nonleague game.

Aten held Central Catholic to just three hits and never really faced any trouble.

Jake Schulz doubled and scored the lone run for Lake (9-5) in the fifth inning.

Drew Hallgren had the only extra-base hit for CCC with a double.

Brecksville 6, Green 5

The Bees got behind early before putting up a six-run seventh inning to steal a win on the road.

Brecksville gave up four runs in the first three innings and had to rotate through seven pitchers to earn the win.

Joe Labas doubled and drove in two of those runs to lead Brecksville (10-3) at the plate.

Walsh Jesuit 4, Anthony Wayne 3

Freshman Emma Barnes slapped three singles and scored a run as the Warriors scored all their runs in the sixth inning to earn a win at the Prebis Memorial Tournament in LaGrange.

Sophomore Julia Bentley doubled and had two RBI and Kristen Kuhrt doubled, scored once and drove in one run as Walsh improved to 14-5 overall.
