GlenOak 28, Firestone 12

Jason Boykins rushed for 138 yards and scored two touchdowns, both in the first quarter, and the host Golden Eagles (1-0) dominated the Falcons (0-1) for the nonleague win in the season opener for both teams.

Boykins had a 74-yard and a 2-yard touchdown run followed by Jason Simonís 34-yard interception return to give the Golden Eaglesís a 21-0 first quarter lead. Kejuan Kelly returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to give the Eagles a 28-6 lead and put the game out of reach.

The Eagles held the Falcons to 140 total yards and six first downs.

Donteal Stone rushed for a touchdown and Deon Brooks threw a touchdown pass to Brennan Williams for the Falcons.

Massillon 35, Perry 7

J.D. Crabtree rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns, including a 74-yard run in the fourth quarter, and the host Tigers (1-0) defeated the Panthers (0-1).

Reggie Rogers caught two touchdown passes and Danny Robinson returned a fumble recovery 23 yards for a touchdown for the Tigers.

Braxton Berry had a 5-yard touchdown run for the Panthers.

Poland Seminary 35, Marlington 14

Adam Blake rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown, and Shawn Kirk threw for 178 yards and a touchdown for the visiting Dukes (0-1). The Bulldogs scored 21 points in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead at halftime after a 7-7 tie at the end of the first quarter.
