The Panthers advanced to the Division I state quarterfinals with a victory in Region 4 over the Blue Streaks.

David Bavery of the 132-pound weight class had a pin in 1:31 for the Panthers and Isaac Bast (170) pinned in 4:24.

The Blue Streaks received a pin from Trey Sommers (182) in 3:24.

Rootstown 37,?Beachwood 32

The Rovers advanced to the Division III state quarterfinals with a victory in Region 19 over the Bison.

Earning major decisions for the Rovers were Brad Trescott (106 pounds), Dalton Leightner (113), Seth Hayes (132) and Zack Ladich (160).

Tuslaw 60, Caldwell 15

The Mustangs advanced to the Division III state quarterfinals with a victory in Region 20 over the Redskins.

The Mustangs were led by four pins, from Shane Johnston (106 pounds), Damon Little (138), Chance Marthey (145) and Brandon Cooper (152).

Boys basketball

Mitchell Spotleson scored 16 points and Chandler Vaudrin added 15 for the host Blue Streaks (15-0, 9-0 Federal League) in a win over the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs (6-9, 4-5) were led by 11 points from Jalen Olds.

Girls basketball

Solon 75, Walsh Jesuit 65

Alexis Stover scored 26 points as the host Comets came back from a 40-36 halftime deficit.

The Warriors were led by Anna Hall (19 points) and Rachel Keough (18).

Boys bowling

Corey Liebau of the Polar Bears rolled a perfect 300 (523 series) but his team still came out on the losing end of things, falling to 11-3.

David Oxford led the Blue Streaks (13-2) with a high game of 276 and high series of 507.
