St. Vincent-St. Mary, baseball
Bischof, a junior, helped lead St. V-M to wins over Cuyahoga Falls (13-3), Lakewood St. Edward (8-3), Liberty Union (12-2) and Youngstown Ursuline (11-3) to open the season. He went 8-for-13 with four singles, three doubles and a grand slam. He also totaled eight runs scored, seven RBI and four stolen bases. The grand slam came against Liberty Union, a game in which he also pitched six innings and got the win.
Burlotos, a senior, scored her 200th career goal with her fifth and final goal in a 16-1 win over Lake on Friday. She then scored seven goals on Saturday to lead Revere to a 12-7 victory over Rocky River Magnificat.
Lake, track and field
Hunt, a junior, led Lake to a boys team title in cold conditions at the Bill Barry Invitational at Tallmadge. He placed first in the long jump (18-9), 200 meters (23.54) and the 1,600-meter relay (3:36) and second in the 400 (53.56). His best results in his top four individual events are 21-9 in the long jump, 11.09 in the 100, 22.42 in the 200 and 50.05 in the 400.
Archbishop Hoban, softball
Knicely, a senior, sparked Hoban to five wins in its first seven games with a .476 batting average, four home runs, four singles, one double, one triple, 11 runs scored and 11 RBI. The Knights beat Mentor Lake Catholic 7-0, Casey County (Ky.) 17-1, Lincoln County (Ky.) 10-7, Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 10-0 and Cleveland Heights Beaumont 16-0; and lost to Warren East (Ky.) 12-2 and Central Hardin (Ky.) 7-2.
Seiler, a junior, compiled a .429 batting average with four singles, one double, one triple, and four RBI during Barberton’s spring break trip to Myrtle Beach. The Magics posted a 2-3 record in the Mingo Bay Classic, defeating Huntington (W.Va.) 8-4 and Canfield (OH) 4-2, and losing to Aynor (S.C.) 8-6, Johnsonville (S.C.) 11-4 and Egg Harbor Township (N.J.) 2-1.
