Brandy, a senior, scored 28 points in a 72-42 win over Kent Roosevelt and then had 19 points in a 69-37 win over Solon that clinched the NOC-River Division title for the Explorers.

Firestone, girls swimming

Miller, a senior, won two individual titles at the Division I state championships. She won the 200-yard individual medley in a state-record time of 1:57.98 and won the 100-yard backstroke in 54.04.

Ross Palazzo

Hudson, swimming

Palazzo, a sophomore, won two individual titles at the Division I state championships. He won the 200-yard individual medley in 1:48.49 and the 100-yard breast stroke in 55 seconds.

Stephen Romanik

Nordonia, diving

Romanik, a junior, won the Division I state championship with a score of 557.15 that was the second highest in state meet history.

Ross Russell

Walsh Jesuit, bowling

Russell, a sophomore, bowled an area-high 687 series in the district tournament to advance to the state tournament as an individual.
