Hance, a junior, scored more than 20 points in three consecutive games. She had 25 points, six rebounds and three assists in a 67-53 loss to Copley; totaled 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 58-52 win over Kent Roosevelt; and had 22 points, three rebounds and two assists in a 43-42 overtime victory over Perry.
Johnson, a senior, helped East (5-3) defeat Cleveland John Marshall, North, Cleveland James Ford Rhodes and Garfield Heights for four wins in a row. She had 16 points, nine rebounds, two blocks and five steals against Marshall; 17 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals versus North; nine points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists against Rhodes; and four points, 10 rebounds, two blocks against Garfield Heights.
Martin, a junior, scored 33 points and had five rebounds and two assists in a 77-64 win over visiting Jackson. He made 11-of-19 shots from the field and 9-of-10 free throws.
Walsh Jesuit, swimming
Kurlich, a senior, set a pool record in the 200-yard individual medley with a winning time of 1:56.93 at the Pepper Pike Orange Invitational. Kurlich also won the 100 butterfly (52.97) to help Walsh finish second to Gates Mills Hawken (442-352½). He also led Walsh to a 106-64 win over Lakewood St. Edward in a dual meet with wins in the 200 individual medley (1:59.22) and the 100 butterfly (52.09), and by contributing to the first-place 200 medley (1:39.71) and 400 freestyle (3:17.57) relays.
Rogers, a senior, had 16 points and 14 rebounds in a 68-57 win over Tallmadge and then totaled 16 points and 13 rebounds in a 59-47 victory over Westlake.
