Brenner, a senior, guided the Indians to a Division I district championship and a spot in the regional tournament. Brenner scored two goals in a 2-1 semifinal win over Brunswick, and added a goal in regulation and made a penalty kick in a shootout triumph over Medina in the district final.
Archbishop Hoban, volleyball
Hall, a senior, led the Knights to the Division II district championship and a spot in the regional tournament. Hall had 19 kills and 12 service points in the semifinal win over Fairless, and 14 kills and 16 service points in the district final win over host Tallmadge. Both wins were in three sets.
Rucker, a senior quarterback, has helped the Griffins put together a five-game winning streak. In recent wins over Ellet (41-21) and North (39-0), Rucker completed 13-of-18 passes for 234 yards and five touchdowns, and rushed 21 times for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
Thomas, a senior quarterback, had a hand in four touchdowns in the Dragons 38-32 victory over Garfield. Thomas completed 13-of-20 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed eight times for 64 yards and one touchdown.
Weinerman, a junior, has rushed for more than 200 yards in five of nine games this season. He rushed 34 times for 219 yards and four touchdowns last week in a 34-27 win over Copley. In Week 7, he rushed 37 times for 261 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-21 victory over Revere. His single-game career-high in yards is 283, and came in a 47-37 win over Medina in Week 3 in which he had 28 carries and three touchdowns.
