Akins, a sophomore, scored eight goals and had one assist in Coventry’s four most recent wins over Akron Garfield, Ravenna, Tallmadge and Streetsboro. He leads the Comets, who are 7-0-3 overall, with 20 goals and four assists this season.
Cavalier, a senior, has a 14-1 overall record and a 6-0 mark in the Federal League as Green’s third singles player. She has victories over opponents from league rivals Canton McKinley, GlenOak, Lake, Jackson, Perry and North Canton Hoover, and triumphs over nonleague foes from Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, Mansfield Madison, Gates Mills Gilmour Academy, Shaker Heights Laurel, Archbishop Hoban, Wadsworth, Highland and Hathaway Brown. Her lone loss is to a Rocky River Magnificat player.
Drehs, a senior, is in her fourth year as a starter for the Bees. She shot an even-par 35 in two events last week and finished third overall at the Medina Invitational with a 73. She entered the week averaging 75.8 strokes for 18 holes and 37.3 strokes for nine holes this season.
Mogadore, cross country
Murphy, a sophomore, finished first overall in the Portage Trail Conference Super Dual Meet last week at Wingfoot Lake State Park in Mogadore, beating a field of 130 girls by more than 30 seconds with a time of 20:37.
O’Quinn, a senior, scored two touchdowns and set school records for receptions (13) and receiving yards (254) in host Jackson’s 38-7 victory over Federal League rival Perry last Friday. Polar Bears senior quarterback Jaret Pallotta tossed four touchdown passes and completed 27-of-35 attempts for a school-record 394 yards.
