Junior Tre Tucker led Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy to a Division II boys regional team title on Saturday at Austintown Fitch.

CVCA scored 82 points. Orange (48), Lake County Perry (45), Salem (39) and Jefferson Area (30½) finished second through fifth in the boys team standings.

The top four in each event qualified for the state track and field meet on Friday and Saturday in Columbus.

Tucker won the 100 meters in 10.80 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 22-9. He also contributed to the top 800 relay (1:29.09) and crossed the finish line second in the 200 (21.90).

Jay Patsch, Justin Luiza and Jonathan Solomon joined Tucker on the 800 relay.

CVCA also won the 3,200 relay in 8:01.06 with Jake Malovasic, Daniel Ripple, Colin Gaines and Sam Bush; and the 1,600 relay in 3:22.03 with Bush, Solomon, Patsch and Gaines.

Additionally, Bush finished first in the 800 in 1:56.6 and Solomon took second in the 300 hurdles in 38.79.

Junior Kirkland Robins qualified for the state boys meet in two events for Buchtel, finishing fourth in the 400 (49.88) and running a leg on the third-place 800 relay (1:30.96).

On the girls side, the top five teams were Beachwood (54), St. Vincent-St. Mary (42), Buchtel (39), Salem (37) and Chagrin Falls (34).

Buchtel won two girls relays — the 800 in 1:41.73 and the 1,600 in 4:00.10. Nevaeh Lewis, London Green, Drew Oliver and Dyamond Myers joined together on the 800 relay, and the 1,600 relay featured Lewis, Dana Beasley, Myers and Da’Veonna Nash.

The Griffins were also second in the 400 relay as Oliver, Lewis, Green and Myers combined to clock a 48.82.

Leah Lisle of St. V-M won the girls 3,200 in 11:21.23.

Orrville wins title

Orrville won the Division II girls regional team title on Saturday at Lexington with 70 points. Norwayne (48), Galion (39), Plain City Jonathan Alder (36) and Huron (34) were next in the girls team standings.

Senior Alex Eby and sophomore Sedona Godard led Orrville to the victory. Eby placed second in two events — the 100 hurdles (14.53) and the pole vault (11-8).

Late Friday

Twinsburg won the Division I girls regional team title at Austintown Fitch with 52 points.

Twinsburg won the 800 relay in 1:39.73 with a unit of Alyssa Willis, Mariah Myles, Nia Robinson and Camari Griffin. The Tigers were also second in the 400 relay (47.82) with Brionna McDonald, Willis, Griffin and Nya Bussey; and second in the 1,600 relay (3:49.02) with Myles, Griffin, Bussey and Robinson.

Nordonia (49½ points), Mentor (49), Youngstown East (42) and Hudson (40) rounded out the top five in the girls team standings.

The top five boys teams were Solon (69), Hudson (38), Canton McKinley (37), Brecksville (36) and GlenOak (35).
