Josee Doyon and Jennifer Ha finished tied for 27th and the Kent State women’s golf team shot a 37-over-par 901 and finished in 12th place at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin.
The Golden Flashes entered Tuesday’s final round in 10th place and shot a 15-over-par 303 a day after shooting a 10-over-par 298.
Doyon and Ha each shot a 6-over-par 222 and finished in a four-way tie for 27th place. Ha shot a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday, a day after shooting a 1-under-par 71.
Doyson carded a 2-over-par 74 on Tuesday, a stroke higher than Monday.
Erin Hawe finished tied for 42nd, Jackie Yanch finished tied for 60th and Natalie Goodson tied for 68th.
Former Kent State wrestling coach Ron Gray will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on June 1 in Stillwater, Okla.
Gray coached KSU for 25 seasons and led the Golden Flashes to nine Mid-American Conference titles from 1977-1990. The Flashes finished 14th at the NCAA Championships in 1981 and in 1984 under Gray.
Gray was a two-time NCAA champion and three-time NCAA finalist at Iowa State. Gray won the NCAA Championships’ Outstanding Wrestler Award in 1959.
