Defending champion Kent State (608) holds a 5-shot advantage over Toledo after the second round Saturday of the 2012 MAC Women’s Golf Championship at Hawthorns Golf & Country Club in Fishers, Ind.

The Golden Flashes shot 307 for a two-day total of 608 as first round leader Ball State fell to third with a 322.

Erin Hawe, Mercedes Germino amd Shamira Marshall are in second, third and tied for fourth place, respectively, with scores of 149, 150 and 153.

Akron climbed one spot higher to fourth place with the third-best team score of the day of 318 and a 36-hole tally of 634 (+58).

Three of the five Zips’ players sit inside the top-25, led by Katie Jenior with a 3-over 75 and moved her up in a tie for seventh place with a two-day total of 155.

 Kristen Hill and Amanda Butler are both in a tie for 16th place with identical two-round scores of 159.
